The votes are in on the Women and Guitars online exhibition contest and the results One artist took first and second place: Nikki Marie Smith, for "Guitar Siren" and "Gypsy Seranade" respectively.
Third place went to Brooks Garten Hauschild for "Shedding a Little Light on the Situation Poster".
Other Top Finishers included "Violeta Parra Back At Seventeen" by Madalena Lobao-Tello, and a work by Nancy Jolley called "Sit'n and Pick'n" and another work by Brooks Garten Hauschild, "Noteworthy 2".
In this contest 41 members of fineartamerica.com participated with a total of 69 artworks and 98 votes were cast. All voting results were tabulated by a program within Fine Art America. Submissions for this contest began:Monday, December 30th, 2013. Submissions ended and voting, which was open to all artists of FAA began Monday, January 13th, 2014 and ended Monday, January 20th, 2014.

A contest on fineartamerica called Movie Posters is completed. The contest permitted votes from the general public and those participating were allowed one vote. The administrator of the contest is Karen Francis who recently designed a movie poster for the new film CHRISTMAS RIDE which she produced with the cooperation of Yarbrough Media Productions in TN. As administrator, she did not participate in the contest. All votes are tabulated by the fineartamerica software program. The results of the contest are as follows:

(Memphis) CHRISTMAS RIDE, a new dramatic family film, is scheduled to premiere for a one night showing 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the MALCO CINEMA in the Wolfchase Galleria Mall (Carousel Entrance). The film tells the story of a woman with two kids and a mysterious neighbor driving South during the Christmas holidays in 1991. Along their journey they share past tragedies, run into dangerous situations on the road, and ultimately discover a truth which tests the limits of forgiveness. Tickets are $6.00 and seats are limited.
The film is produced by Art Promotions in cooperation with Yarbrough Media Productions. This is an independent production, the first feature for each. CHRISTMAS RIDE draws predominantly on acting talent from TN, with the male lead, H T Altman, being from Minnesota. Over sixty actors are in the cast. More than ten musicians have works in the movie.
